This report is about the value of Indigenous lands. It picks up from Land Back, the first Red Paper report by Yellowhead, and the project of land reclamation. But it does so from the perspective of stolen money.

The value of Indigenous lands, from Canada’s perspective, lies in extraction and commodification. The national economy has been built on the transformation of Indigenous lands and waterways. In place of jurisdiction over their territories, Canada set up for First Nations a weak, impoverished fiscal system – a cradle to grave bureaucracy – to control life through each carefully managed stage of need.
